Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tsp Dijon mustard

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Olive oil, for cooking

Burger buns (toasted)

Toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, and avocado (optional)

Instructions

Prep the Spinach: In a medium bowl, place the chopped spinach. If using raw spinach, you can sauté it lightly in a pan with a teaspoon of olive oil for about 2-3 minutes until wilted. Let it cool slightly.

Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, wilted spinach, shredded white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined; avoid overmixing to ensure the burgers stay tender.

Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty. Aim for about 1 inch thick to ensure even cooking.

Cook the Burgers: Heat a skillet or grill over medium heat and add a little olive oil. Once hot, place the patties on the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side until browned. Carefully flip the burgers and cook for another 5-6 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the cheese is melted.

Assemble the Burgers: Toast the burger buns lightly. Place the cooked chicken patties on each bun and add your desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato slices, and avocado.

Serve: Enjoy your delicious White Cheddar and Spinach Chicken Burgers warm with a side of sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
