Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Burger buns

Sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and your choice of condiments for serving

Instructions

In a medium mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped spinach, white cheddar, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and gently shape each portion into a patty. Make a slight indent in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through and have a good golden brown crust. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 165°F.

During the last minute of cooking, if desired, place a slice of white cheddar cheese on each patty to melt slightly.

Toast the burger buns in the skillet for a minute until golden.

Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked chicken patties on the bottom half of the buns, then top with sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and your favorite condiments.

Close the burgers with the top half of the buns and serve immediately.
