Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or adjust to taste)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and salt. Whisk until well blended.

Prepare Chicken: Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours) for best flavor absorption.

Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken thighs, reserving the excess marinade for later use. Cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F / 75°C).

Glaze the Chicken: Once the chicken is fully cooked, pour the reserved marinade into the skillet. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the chicken beautifully.

Serve: Remove the skillet from heat and let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Slice the chicken if desired, and serve it over rice or alongside steamed vegetables. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for an extra crunch.
