Ingredients

1 lb flank steak

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp black pepper

2 cups cooked jasmine rice

1 cup kimchi, chopped

1 cup cucumber, julienned

1 cup shredded carrots

2 green onions, sliced

1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

For the Spicy Cream Sauce:

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tsp honey

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp lime juice

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, brown sugar, and black pepper to create a marinade. Place the flank steak in the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).

Prepare the Spicy Cream Sauce: In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise, gochujang, rice vinegar, honey, garlic powder, and lime juice until smooth. Adjust the spice level by adding more gochujang if desired. Set aside.

Cook the Steak: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for approximately 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until cooked to your desired doneness. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.

Assemble the Rice Bowls: In serving bowls, add a generous scoop of cooked jasmine rice as the base. Arrange the sliced steak on top of the rice.

Add Toppings: Top the steak with chopped kimchi, julienned cucumber, shredded carrots, and sliced green onions.

Drizzle the Sauce: Generously drizzle the spicy cream sauce over the assembled rice bowls.

Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top for added crunch. Serve immediately and enjoy your Korean BBQ Steak Rice Bowls with Spicy Cream Sauce!
