Ingredients

4 slices of thick-cut brioche or challah bread

2 large eggs

1/2 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for cooking)

1/4 cup brown sugar (for caramelizing)

Pinch of salt

Fresh fruits (like berries or banana slices) for topping

Maple syrup for serving

Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Allow it to melt and coat the surface.

Dip each slice of brioche into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated. Allow excess egg mixture to drip off.

Place the soaked bread slices in the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Repeat with all slices, adding more butter and adjusting heat if necessary.

Once the French toast is cooked, remove from the skillet and keep warm on a plate.

In the same skillet, add the brown sugar and a tablespoon of butter. Allow it to melt and bubble for about 1 minute.

Place the French toast back in the skillet, swirling them around to coat in the caramel mixture. Let them cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until they are beautifully caramelized.

Serve warm topped with fresh fruits and a drizzle of maple syrup. Add whipped cream if desired for an indulgent touch!
