Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for heat)

1/3 cup sweet chili sauce

1/4 cup sriracha sauce (adjust for heat)

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional for added flavor)

Green onions, thinly sliced, for garnish

Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix everything together until just combined; be careful not to overmix.

Shape the Meatballs: Using your hands or a small ice cream scoop, form the mixture into evenly sized meatballs, approximately 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake the Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.

Prepare the Firecracker Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, whisk together the sweet chili sauce, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil in a separate bowl. Adjust the levels of sriracha to your desired spice level.

Combine and Bake Again: Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven. Pour the firecracker sauce over the meatballs and toss gently to coat. For extra flavor, you can return the meatballs to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to caramelize slightly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and transfer the meatballs to a serving dish. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot with rice, noodles, or on their own as an appetizer.
