2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb)

8 oz rotini pasta

4 tbsp unsalted butter

5 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Cook the Rotini: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the rotini pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.

    Prepare the Chicken: While the pasta cooks, season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

      Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream, and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

        Add Cheese and Seasonings: Reduce the heat to low and whisk in the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using).
