Ingredients

1 cup fresh blueberries

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

3/4 cup sugar (adjust for taste)

4 cups cold water

Lemon slices and additional blueberries for garnish

Ice cubes

Instructions

In a small saucepan, combine the fresh blueberries and 1 cup of water. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, allowing the blueberries to burst and release their juices. This should take about 5-7 minutes.

Once the blueberries have softened, remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing gently to extract all the juice. Discard the solids and set the blueberry juice aside to cool.

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar. Stir well until the sugar has completely dissolved. This may take a minute or two.

Add the cooled blueberry juice to the pitcher, followed by the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Mix well until everything is combined.

Taste your blueberry lemonade and adjust the sweetness if needed by adding more sugar or water.

Serve over ice in glasses, garnishing with fresh lemon slices and a few whole blueberries for an added touch of freshness.
